What are the possibilities?

    hello,

im currently optimizing a site that has already a good SERP position for my targeted keywords. the site is 9 years and 3 months old.
i see this tag: <META HTTP-EQUIV="Keywords" CONTENT=> as an unwanted tag. if i would delete this tag, is there any possibility that the SERP position for the targeted keywords would go down?

I'd just add your keywords to it, I doubt you'd suffer if you removed it if it's currently empty. Adding keywords to it may well improve on your rankings.

so you mean i will just add keywords on it?

the site already have a keyword meta tag, and it also have META HTTP-EQUIV="Keywords".. i think that one looks spammy.

To be honest, if a site is ranking well I'm loathe to take anything away from a page. You're obviously not getting a penalty for it so I'd just leave it for now and keep adding links. If the page starts slipping after an update then take a look at the on page optimisation and play about with keyword density.
