What are the oldest directories

So we know about dmoz, botw and yahoo. But are some of the other older directories that you know of?

 

JoeAnt.com was originally launched in the spring of 2001.

any thoughts on why it didn't seem to pick up like the others?

 

Well, they certainly ain't Yahoo or DMOZ (but who is), but JoeAnt seems to be doing very well. Just a look at Alexa Rankings you see that they certainly get traffic, with a ranking very similar to BOTW.

 

It's weird, because i just don't seem to catch the phrase 'JoeAnt', like I do a 'BOTW' and the likes around here.

Is it that I may not be paying attention enough?

 

Both JoeAnt and BOTW are very good directories.

 

If it was built at that day, than I think it was too new to become the oldest. I was a big fan of GT Link 2.0 script at 1999 until i build one myself a year later. I'm sure there're many others that older than joeant, but i just remember yahoo as my favorite.

about JoeAnt - i remember it like it was here for a very long time (even 2000 sounds not old enough for me LOL)

 

joeant is a great directory. I definitely remember it from way back. In internet time at least 100 years
