The world population stands around 6.707 billion in 2008-2009. There are between 1.5-2 billion Christians. There are between 1.3-1.8 billion Muslims. There are between 12–25 million Jews. If Christianity is right, at least 4 billion of the human population will go to hell. 67% of the entire population If Islam is the right religion, still, about 67% of the entire human population will go to eternal hell. Judaism's god is worse, throwing 99% of the current population to hell just because he can. Why do people still believe in a God that purposely created us just so that he can put majority of us in hell for all eternity?
hey hey hey............... Judaism sees hell and heaven pretty much differently than christianity and islam. The concepts of "heaven" and "hell" in judaism were incorporated later as influence from Christianity mainly. The common interpretation is bolded above. The old testament does not mention neither "heaven" nor "hell" not even a single time. Those who know me know that I'm not a fan of religions (see my thread from 1 hour ago), but on the other hand I feel obliged to protect Judaism from false allegations
OK, I'll become a Jew then. It's perfect and it makes the most sense to believe in a god that isn't a sick twisting bastard.
My favorite religion is actually the bahai. Although descended from (and prosecuted by) violent Islam, it is the most tolerant and peaceful religion on earth in my view. plus, their main temple is in Israel, of course - like all other lunatics of the world, and not so far from where I live. But yea its always better to worship evidence logic and rationality instead of foolish gods... and this is how I try to live my life.
Hey! Now that's what I call a religion. Thanks for the link, I'll try to figure my way around New Delhi to learn more of this baha'i.
How do you figure? What are you basing this on? Christians believe all who ask for forgiveness in the eyes of God are bound for Heaven. You've got to do more than just not believe to get into hell.
You'd actually have to believe in order to ask for forgiveness. So yeah, even if you were, through no fault of your own, born in a place that lacked Christian teachings, you're going to hell. Great plan God.
Through Jesus, kinda forgot that part. If you don't believe Jesus is god, tough luck sucker. Maybe NEXT time you'll choose the same beliefs as I. Hah, if there WERE a next time! Say hello to eternal punishment, god is THROUGH with you! Good point, the ones in hell won't have any way of changing themselves though when they finally do believe, it's like the ultimate ownage. The Christians basically float above them saying, "ha ha I told you so I told you so!".
I have to disagree... You're not going directly to hell. You might be in limbo for a bit, but in the end, most people on the death bed, or once they check out from what I've experienced seem to accept Christ, God, and whatever else.
Not sure what your beliefs are but this seems to go directly against Christianity. Maybe you don't let a book determine how you'll live and view life, or maybe you just kinda do. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but regarding Christianity's view on hell you're wrong.
It's impossible to believe in something you've never heard of or been taught about. If a person who has been raised within Islam or any of the literally HUNDREDS of other religions on earth is on their death bed they're not going to accept Jesus as their lord and savior. Doesn't make them a bad person, just not what they were taught. Conversely, a person who was born in a barely civilized part of the world that lives in huts and was never exposed to Christianity won't be accepting God or Jesus either. They did nothing wrong, but because of where they were born they are doomed to hell from the moment they are born. God is perfect.
I raised this question to several Christians before and the best they've come up with is, "well God (or satan i guess since they kinda do dirty deals with each other) uses other people as instruments to confuse you and take your focus off of faith, in this case the people you hear about who never hear of Christ may not even be real people." lol. I guess archeologists are also doing the devil's work. Quick, destroy all facts and logic!
Well let's not forget that all those people were put here on earth for the chosen ones (Christians) to spread the gospel to them. Forget the fact that they are just as much human beings as Christians because Christianity gives its evangelical believers a sense that those people are less than human until their hearts are filled with Jesus.... They're just empty shells for Christians to earn their Jesus Merit Badges (JMB?) on to get into heaven. And if you're down with radical Islam, well you can just slaughter those fucking infidel pigs for not believing.... unless it's Ramadan... Sounds like 2 religions created by people with rampant self-importance issues to me but hey, what do I know.
If you believe in God anything is possible. You have enough molecules in your little body to wap around the sun, what is it seven times? Numbers are meaningless to prove the thing does not exist. There are many "Christian" sects that do not believe it exists. Sects of Calvanists, That group that likes to knock on your door (no blood transfusions). All sorts. I call all these things second tier issues, they actually have no basis in your life. If you believe then you are to believe. If you don't you'll never prove to someone who does by showing them their math is wrong, lol. I'll tell you one thing. If you go home and someone in your family starts saying in some deep voice "get ouuuuuuuut" and "something about your mother having a date in hell." you may not be religious, but I'll bet you two to one there'll be a Roman Catholic priest parking his car in your driveway before too long.
The easist thing on earth to be is a jerk. You don't have to use your heart, your head, no sense of compassion, right from wrong. These guys are everywhere. They proliferate. But how you can just bash a religion based upon them, knowing mostly everyone is a jerk no matter what he does or believes in, or a state based upon runs ins at the local bar. etc etc... It's just rather callow. I think religion turns so much of us off so badly that like poop, we just don't want to even get that close because we can't bare the smell of it. But the fact is that once you overcome that initial reaction, poop is a damn good fertilizer. Fertilizer makes things grow. Feedsstrong bodies. Get a good study Bible, I highly recommend the Nelson. And see for yourself what it says. Much to what I was force-fed I learned that the Bible is a proponent of evolution, that you do not have to be a Christian to enter heaven (Romans 2:10 through 2:16). That's what it says, right there. I've got family members that are jews, (and a new brother in law who is an Afghany muslem) I no longer have to worry for their salvation because I READ the Bible. Like a good snort of some hard liquor now and again? So did God, and he liked to party with us too - Duet 14:26. I believe in the word of God. And That Jesus is my Saviour. My problem is I don't believe in Christians (well, for the most part). And I DO think every faith and race has good and bad, and that, as Romans 2:1--16 tells us, ANYONE can wind up in heaven. God is no snob. So, pass the Chevis
Oh God thou art , can you please allow us to use your eternal hellfire to generate electricity in earth ? earth is soon going to run out of fuel .
