After penguin update there is no new technique.In seo, there is only offpage and onpage with content quality.

 

I think quality content is more important after penguin update.

 

I think you should read google webmasters guidelines ( if you haven't) it will give you a clear picture.

Any link that looks un natural (spammy) to google has to be avoided.

 

Nowadays a social marketing technique has a good potential.

there's really no new technique, it's just a matter on what do you think works on your site. for me doing guest post is really working.
quality content + quality site = increase you rankings.

Hey only follow google webmaster's Rules to got good result in seo.

 

No any new technique... simply the off-page, On-page & Social Media. But change some procedure. For Example..

Do Guest posting, blog posting with unique article and target the different keyword for anchor.

Not post same article in many article directories. Write a unique article and spin it and post in different article sites.

Do the contextual link building... etc etc.

 

Content marketing, link baiting, infographics, social media marketing, press release

 

You should use the SAME techniques as before the update if they were useful. Otherwise, you should continue with them, BUT also start a better strategy!

 

In 2012, content is more important then other techniques. After come Google Panda, content play most important role in promotion of your website. If you use unique and fresh content, you will get good results like high ranking, high traffic.. etc. If you use duplicate or irrelevant content, you will get very bad results like high drop in ranking, high drop in traffic.. etc.
