Hi Am new to WordPress. Want to know what are minimum /necessary features required to add to new WordPress blog. Such as Theme? Keywords? Tags? RSS? If anyone has tutorial on basic WordPress blog set up , please post. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!
I think you got to have some great plugins - cs forms for comments Heck, I've got so many widgets on my sites I can't even name them all - Adsense SEO Google Analytics Calendars Site Map Etc...
Where in the wordpress blog would I post all those links? I have a category called "affiliate web links - but if I showed all 35 of those, they'd look tacky?" Is there a way to embed it in your code somewhere?
I have a ton, but a few of the plug in's are google sitemaps sociable one click install all in one seo comment luv wp contact form all have been very useful to all of my blogs
You can use plugins there which you think suitable for you as there are lots of plugins available for WP. Common plugins which used by people are All in one Seo,Social Bookmarking,Contact Form etc.. BTW don't forget to use WP Backup Plugin for your WP which takes daily or weekly backup automatically as per schedule set by you. It is must IMO for all WP Users. DON.
Once you have all the necessary plugins, that is more than enough. I don't suggest having a lot of stuff in a blog site. There must be only one focus in a blogsite.
did you people read his question? he's asking for the minimum necessary requirements to setup a blog. all you need is an email address to sign up for a blog on wordpress.com. if you wanted to host it yourself you would need a web server that supports php and mysql. i'm sure that there's other wordpress packages for IIS as well if you or your host are running that instead of apache. other than that, you dont need any plugins or any of that other crap. not to have a blog anyways. the rest of it is all eye candy.
