What are the legalities of downloading videos from youtube and reupping them back?

    I was just curious on what the legalities of downloading videos from youtube and reupping them to your own account?

    Is there any difference if I edit the video first?

    That's what I thought, but was curious when I saw people wanting to hire people to download and upload videos on youtube.

    its not pointless because you can add a link to the video, and then if you get hits to the video, it could lead to site traffic.
