Hi, Friends I'd like to know about the best practices to list my site in google 1st or 2nd page to a certain keyword. I'd like to hear some experience of yours. How long it took? what were the successful methods you practiced?
    Thank you!

Target best keywords, add quality content, do optimization then promote your site.

    • On Page SEO - Title and H1,H2,H3 tags.
    • Unique QUALITY Content (Targeting Keywords) - This will cause people to link to your site.
    • Contact Webmasters asking for links. - Simply ask, Politely. With good content you have a better chance they will link to you.
    • Try to target your keyword in domain, while keeping it short and to the point.
    • Articles Marketing - With links in resource box.
    • Non spamming Comments on DOFOLLOW blogs.
    • Submit to: DMOZ and YAHOO - Then forget about them.
    • If you have quality news release press releases - Great for traffic and backlinks.

GreenDog you have mentioned "Submit to: DMOZ and YAHOO - Then forget about them." what does it mean? Do you mean directory submission is no longer a good practice?

GREEN GOG's some suggestion is acceptable...

but never try top keywords in ur start, but find relative keywords that searched less time in google search and focus on them, when u will be top on these keywords then try for some HARD keywords to be displayed in top results.

Thank you seo -. I've already submitted into a lot of directories and no success. Actually does this directory submission help to list my site for keywords?
