Just search and you'll find plenty of threads already asking the same things. But more importantly, what might be "good" for one site could be useless for another. It depends on your niche and your audience. Jenn
I wrote an article recently on my companies blog, which was all about how you can get some more last minute free traffic for your new websites launch day, but this can be easily adapted for websites that are already up and running. You can read it here, http://adquick.co.uk/blog/?p=50
tyzer, I tried your site but got an internal server error message. Maybe it will come up later. buckeyegal
Good free traffic methods basically all revolve around putting your URL in front of people's eyes. This can be done through posting on forums, groups, commenting on blogs, social bookmarkers, search engines, viral video sites like YouTube... etc.
Are you looking for online marketing strategies, offline, or both? One of the best ways of marketing websites to relevant traffic is to make your website user-friendly and get buzz. Give your site an infusion of fresh content regularly using SEO and link strategies to encourage a high search engine ranking, and use your website address in your signatures on forums. Another method is to submit quality articles with a link to your site in the byline. If people like what they see, they'll follow the link in the hope of finding similar content.
The two last post are good to follow. Just an advice: Master one technique at a time. You can also outsource. Article marketing is one you want to strat with. Blogging is also something you want to do.
Standard way create a site > Add more and more contents >list into directories to gain PR >Link exchange with other sites > " enjoy search engine traffic"> Make sign up option and collect emails > Create " add to favorite link " >and create Tell a Friend link if above things fail ( which should not fail ) , here are the alternative ways . Post in relative forum's , Create blog and comment on related blogs ,add link into signatures of all outgoing email ,tell your friends about your website , .............. ( you can read my blog for detail promotion methods) Good luck
Hehe! Look at me! Look at me!! Ok - this will look spammy, but my site is free and delivers traffic. um - well... he did ask I think you have made a good start by posting in forums - It's fun and helps you get traffic. Another useful one I use is from directory submissions - oh yeah, and check out the seo forums and learn a few things there too Ok- so I had a little spam and a little info - happy Cheers, Cindy
