Hey guys! I was wondering if anybody is aware of the 'formula' or method for deciding the quality score of a given ad. Is this something that can be pointed down to a science? If I have no control of the landing page, is there a way I could boost my quality score
Google doesn't say but has hinted at a few things and experts agree that about 65% of QS is CTR, about 25% is keyword relevancy, rest is other factors. See my Adwords FAQ for more details. The long and short of it is, create ads that get higher click rates. Keyword relevancy should be a no-brainer but people still mess this up and lose 2.5 QS points (it's either relevant or it's not, no in-between). A large part of the other factors is page loading time.
Actually 80% of Quality Score is based on the CTR of the keyword, 20% is based on everything else, (ad relevance, landing page/site). I think it's this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7l0a2PVhPQ
Cool, thank you! I posted another thread because of your answer... I think I need to improve my keywords
CTR, CTR, CTR. Get and maintain HIGH CTR forever and big G will reward yo ass with lower CPC (and higher impression % - unless your already at 100%). Good Luck.
