I'm thinking about advertising a student site at a HUGE university (40k students) This site has to do with that university. At a bus stop, you know how there's like a glass house? I'm going to post flyers (just the name of the site, skoog O, and then a short little description on the bottom. ) all over that place, not missing a single blank spot. That means about 300 flyers in 1 bus stop. On top of that, I'm advertising on facebook and school websites. I'm sending out emails of this website to the entire school, with permission of dean. The ad will say 2 things: skoog O _school name__ is now Online So the question is: What would your reaction be when you see it? 1. Would you think this is crazy advertising? 2. Get annoyed by all these posters? Either way, you'd check it out, right? Because this advertising is CRAZY right? Do any of you have any other suggestions? By the way, my website is http://tinyurl.com/2bjkzn thanks!
Maybe? Advertising is a funny thing, and school kids are finicky. You'll either be a huge success, or you'll be completely ignored. Timing could be key. Don't do it on winter break, spring break, or too close to finals. You'll find that kids are too busy. That said, I kinda like State better, so *shrug* Either way, lemme know when you send out the emails, I'll make sure some of my friends read it
ah i c, would many people at my school get offended if I "spam" advertise this way for this kind of site?
There is a good chance many will not even open it, but some will, and some is what you want. If the site is worthy, those that did bother clicking into it will tell others and then word of mouth will either make it or break it. So if your site is worth checking out, then don't worry about it
