I read much about affiliate programs. I decided to start my own affiliate business. As I was looking for some work at home job/business, I picked one ‘money and employment’ category product fro click bank and started promoting it through google adwords. But even after more than 200 clicks, there is not a single sale. So I nee your favour. I want to know what are the factors to be considered before choosing a product for affiliate business? Your advices/suggestions will be very much valuable for me.
Not sure how helpful this will be but for me, it's all about communities. If you can find an affiliate program that you can tie into the creation of a community, you stand a far better chance of success. For example, if you are reselling SEO tools, an SEO community would be good. Subtly pushing and promoting your tools within the community and steering them towards promoting them through word of mouth or buzz marketing. Likewise, books or music with Amazon would benefit from a similar community there people use your website / forums and buy from your store instead of Amazons. Communities are the key to affiliate sales in IMHO. Good luck. P.S - I would also try and ensure that the "owner" of whatever you're trying to flog doesn't sell it direct, as that can be a killer. It's difficult to compete with the "owner" or creator of a product. Many outlets choose ONLY to sell through resellers and these are the best ones in my opinon. Try and find an area of the market which is not over crowded aswell obviously.
weekly payment, payment via epassporte and wire, support 24/7, and nice products and state of art websites
the above all sound like good advice, but the first question I ask myself is would I buy it myself? If the product is no good you could get 20,000 clicks and no sales. take a look at the products website to see if it would make you want to buy, or turn you off. look at the commission you will make from each sale. its very hard to make any money selling through adwords if your commission per sale will only be a few dollars. that said, the products with very high commissions are often in niches too competitive to get involved in. webhosting for example has great commissions but you'll be paying upwards of $2-3 to advertise it in adwords. you can still make a profit but i wouldnt start out there if i were you. if a product hasnt sold at all after 200 - 300 clicks, then dump it. its probably not going to work out. prepare yourself to test a few products before you start to get anywhere. mate the first one is the hardest, after that you'll find things become easier. i'm relatively new myself and i realise now that it takes two things AT LEAST to get some success in this. First you have to build up the skills to market a product, then you have to find a good product to market. once i'd worked on the first and found the second, all of a sudden things started to work for me. you could have a great product at the moment but just arent promoting it the right way, which would be a shame. so read these forums and build up your knowledge base. worthwhile things always take some time.
Thanks Bounce. Your post is very much valuable for me. I must have to develop skills to market a product.
