This confuses me. What do these terms mean? I don't think they are all interchangeable. content writer / web content writer content provider SEO writer SEO content provider copywriter To my mind, a (web) content writer is one who writes articles with keywords optimized for search engines. It is the same as an SEO writer. A content provider is a company of SEO experts and consultants that do a more comprehensive work on a client's site. They may or may not have web content writers for hire. They do keyword research, competitor analysis, HTML optimization, link building and offsite promotion. It's the same as an SEO content provider. A copywriter is one who rewrites articles, press releases, etc. with the intent to sell a product. A copywriter has to be skilled in persuading readers "You need to buy this." An ebook selling page, for instance, needs good copywriting for it to work. Do I have that right? If not please correct me!
I think you can avoid all the different facets of the terms by explaining what you want when you post a job. For instance, it might be assumed that someone wanting content creation needs it to be optimised for SEO, with proper title, and usage of the keywords in the body. Otherwise, your just buying an article with no purpose or focus and negates the point of it, (unless you only care about real readership). I believe it all falls under the umbrella of "Ärticle Writer" or "Content Creator".
Well, I just wanted to know the proper terms to use to avoid confusing people when I talk about them. By the way, is this another fine example of "copy writing"? http://www.businesswebsiteseo.com/seo-content-providers-and-seo-content-writers-the-difference/ http://seocontentproviders.com/Article_Provider_vs_Writer.html
Hello, content writer / web content writer - Content Writer content provider - Contributor As for the other terms I would say that they just branch off of these terms. Or if you would like to be general you could say SEO consultant. This is right, you can use your own words just as long as the description or qualifications are clearly defined. Thanks, Nick
You may be getting a bit too technical with those terms. When you truly find a great writer, he/she will be able to do all those tasks listed.
