That a great domain that has been registered since 1999 could have their auto-renew disabled? I know I might be getting my hopes up but do you think it may be possible?

if it expires the age of the domain would reset but more people will know about it from before, but a domain like that now dont usually expire lol

The owner is not likely to let it drop

There is always a chance that they have it disabled, but if it is a great domain as you say, then the drop catchers will definately pick this one up
