What are the biggest reasons sites get Banned?

So I am reading through this forum and I am starting to get scared. Some of the things I write about might not be in accordance with main stream views...I dont believe I am doing anything illegal, but then again, there are not a whole lot of laws on the internet...so we follow each companies TOS...Thats a lot to follow...I guess I am just wondering why sites get banned...They usually dont give any reason from what I hear...

My guess is you all are going to tell me to read their TOS and blah blah blah...I will do that, but I would also like to know the main reasons sites are getting banned.

Clicking your own ads, having friends do it for you, or encouraging the visitor to do it, and/or participating in click exchange or PTC programs.

Putting adsense on sites that are not allowed.

    Two words. Invalid clicks.

People think there is no way they will ever know if I do it from: a friend's house, the office, the library or get my buddy in Topeka to do it for me.

Next on the list is asking people to support the site. Then comes images placed to close to the ads for the purpose of calling attention to the ads.

So as long as I just place the ads on my site and dont click on my own ads and what not, i should be ok? I would hope my friends and family wouldnt do that...I would never ask them to and I dont think anything that I have ever used has called for someone to click on ads on my site. I advertise for other blogs and other pages on my site but other than that i wouldnt ask for someone to click on ads.

    As far as I know
-They are following the black hat techniques like spamming.
    - Copying content in original websites
-Spreading malicious virus over the net

    :)

I don't tell friends about my sites because I don't want the worry. You could get banned if they decided "to help you out" even though you didn't ask. Make sure they don't click the ads to help you out.

The only other issue would be copyright infringement - i.e. using content or pictures you don't have express permission to use. While a smaller site is at a lower risk, if someone complains, you could have problems.

Even if you are not the one who do that, google will still track the invalid clicks which is one of the most reason why more sites got banned. Try to review again the google adsense TOS.

google adsense is smart enough to detect the fraud clicks on the ads, so don't try to fool them :)

As long as you stick to the Google Adsense rules and regulations, there is no point in fear of getting banned.

Actually my account got banned for no good reasons. I religiously follow their TOS for the past few years (yes, I have been with them for a few years on the same sites) and I just got informed recently I have been toasted. :(

They did not give any reasons nor did they reply my emails.

I am still (till today) scratching my head what has gone wrong really.. Perhaps they have gone too big for their own good, we really need a good substitute for Adsense.

For my case, I am positive there are no click frauds. In fact, my adsense payout has been on the declined for the past 12months at least. It is getting lesser and lesser despite consistent or higher traffic.

Per-click revenue has dropped considerably, I took it that it could be due to the bad economy. But that's another story altogether.

Google is so strict, they will suspend your account for small things. So be very careful not to click your own ad. Once you're banned, it will be hard for you to come on board again.
