Does anyone know what are the best type of keywords for websites. For example single word, 2 words or 3 or 4 words keywords.

That all depends on your goals, competition, and whether you will be trying to make sales! But I like the low hanging fruit with hardly any competition and lots of traffic!

Use the Google Adwords Keyword tool to find those keywords and stick to them!

Better to use more complicated word combinations.
For example if your site is about perfume you should use not only "famous fragrance" but "original famous fragrance" or something even more complicated

I would say best keywords are which are searched MOST by your
targeted market....but sometime it is hard to compete with SINGLE words
    with established sites...

so i suggest REVERSE the process...Go for LONG TAIL keywords first,
then keep improving your site and content and it will improve the presence
of your site...and soon you can target two/three WORDS keywords...
and then at last who is stopping you to FIGHT for SINGLE KEYWORD or PHRASE
in your NICHE with big dogs in SEs... :)

    Good Luck,
    Mohsin

Morli makes a good point. Yes, having the most searched is important, but if you have 6,000 others competing on the same keyword or phrases it's hard to get noticed. So try to find the most searched, but also see how many results they turn up.

Anything under 1,000,000 is feasible, but the least amount of competition is key. Therefore it doesn't really matter how many words are in them, just use the ones that works best.

    Good Luck~

For those of us who are familiar, yes there are many people that do it. However, saying everyone does it is like saying everyone who comes on the Internet already knows how to make money online.

Some believe that there are at least 8 different kinds of keywords. These include Expert Verbiage, Contextual, PPC, Client, etc.

I agree with seopositions, that you have to define what your website is focused towards, before you can properly select your keywords. Also, LSI and long-tailed keywords can be more valuable than just the highest searched keywords.

for this application eight different types of keyword generation systems the Internet and Web application might help me understand why you need a different kind of keyword structures to optimize a webpage.

To my understanding Key phrases and targeted keywords help the meta-tag metadata traffic in the optimization of those webpages coming into your website analytics or social bookmarking in your targeting of your positioning over the Internet positioning alone doesn't guarantee traffic the metadata tagging key phrase traffic analytics are more accurate

To make things much easier I use http://www.goldencashcompass.com it is a free tool that will help you discover which keywords are best to target in your niche. It uses the Google Adword Keyword Suggestion Tool in conjunction with it's own unique tools that take all the stress and time out of keyword research!

But watch the free videos are you will most likely not understand how to use the tool!

Thats not the right question and people can't really answer that.

What you want to look for is keywords with high daily searches and low competition these may be 1,2,3,4,5 worded keywords. The best keywords are the one word keywords with little competition but many searches however your more than likely to find these being the long tail keywords, keywords with more than 3 words.

You can find out more and learn how to perform keyword research by downloading my free All in one keyword research eBook.
