What are the best procedures for a (virtually) empty home page?

    The homepage of the website it mainly a slider with headings, plus the menu bar. Because of this, the pages in the website are appearing higher up than the home page.
    What is the best thing to do with this? Ideally I would like all the pages to be higher up in the serp, but the home page is my concern. I have Yoast for Wordpress installed, and this is reporting good for all pages apart from home page which is down as bad.
    The home page has a meta title and description. What more should I do?
    Have thought of hidden text, but if this has even a small chance of resulting in the website being blocked, then this is a no go. The website is for a professional company, not a blog or anything.

    Add some content about your services, products in your homepage to get rank it in the search engine.

    This is exactly why I asked the question. That is not what is wanted at all. So I wondered if there was another way, via hidden text, or something.

    You can always hide the text, but it would containt BLANK area. You can use CSS to do this (write it in Google and search) ;)
