What are the best practices to perform multi-lingual SEO on a Website

    Hi Friends,

    I have a website in english language and I want to get it ranked on Search Engine of The France, Germany, Canada and Spain. Please let me know how can I do multi-lingual SEO for these countries.

    Try to get backlinks for forums like DigitalPoint where you will find people from France, Germany, Canada and Spain. Also do social networking and target these country people. It will help you get ranked in those search engines.

    Well on my experience its not just on where are the backlinks coming from.
    The most importent thing is to have our onpage language to be German, French, Canada...

    Onsite use pages for different languages (rather than create subdomains) have clear language to language navigation (industry standard is to use national flags on the top right of the page).

    Offsite, as Klarksen so rightly said, you need to do a little optimizing link wise for each language. Make sure the results point to the right pages linguistically.
