All I see you post is about you and you only, specially when someone is posting paid listing. It would help if you could recommend something that is more usefull to the poster.

    Uh...ok.

How about some better places to promote your directory. Obviously the Solicitation Forum here on DP is good. If you are selling links, then visit the Links Sales forum here.

Other nice directory lists to advertise your paid directory would be:
    http://www.best-web-directories.com
    http://www.seocompany.ca/directory/web-directories.html
    http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php
    http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=pay-for-inclusion.php
    http://www.articletrader.com/directories/
    http://web-directories.ws/General/Paid___Reciprocal/
    http://www.directorylist.org/paid-directories/ (Paid Permanent)
    http://www.directorylist.org/annual-directories/ (Paid Annual)

Some forums other than DP that have Directory Solictiations are:
    http://www.v7n.com/forums/
    http://www.webmaster-talk.com/
http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/ (if you use the PHPLD script)

Ok, that's just a small sampling of places where you can start. Should get you some business.

Also, when purchasing text links or ad space on websites, try to do so on SEO or webmaster-related websites. Obviously these are the people interested in buying links.

You could also swap approval email links with other directory owners. You know, someone submits to www.xyz.com and in their approval email they suggest ,"Hey, also submit to this great site www.abc.com."

    Just some more thoughts. :)

I was just thinking of adwords...i mean if you are a paid directory and you pay 0.10$ for a link, and get 10 dollars hen someone subscribes, if 1 from every 100 people buy a link you are good to go..right?

Geesh...have my directories monetized to the max, and now I find out I do not have that anymore!
Never thought about the emails (submission, acceptance, rejection, etc) my directories send out.

Will have to give this some thought.
Any ideas on how to do this and how much to charge?

I've been doing a lot of directory submits lately.

When the emails list other directories, I assume (yeah, I know what that means) because I was submitting for a free listing that I was being hit up for the pay ones.

I would suggest if you do try the email route, plainly list if directory is free or how much it is to list.

I'd certainly consider this for the right price.
Either a set fee or a commission for everyone who goes for a payed listing.

I understand your line of thinking here.
But since my directories offer free or paid listings, i dont see a problem there.

Anyone who decides to consider this idea, PM me.
