No one seems to trust Alexa.. so where do you get better numbers for traffic data? Nielsen Net Ratings? Comscore? Anyone here monitor the "top500" for marketing purposes? How often does the "top500" list really change? (more than just rearranging the same sites) Just curious....
Hello Friends, Logic. I just cannot see utilizing a rating provider that requires users that are measured only from a tool bar. Most people will never download anything as a rule of thumb and i beleive if they do not download the tracking tool then these views online are not recordable. Logic...
Google Analytics. It's free and you can install it easily on your website. I use it all the time. The next thing to look at would be the quality of your traffic which is another thing you can test with Google Analytics. You can check the Bounce Rate and see how many people leave your site right on the first page and even how many seconds they were on each page! It gets really detailed.
Analytics, statcounter and your own cpanel data give valuable information on your site traffic. Alexa is crap.
hey guys, the topic is NOT about the stats that YOU see about YOUR site(s). There are really lots of tools for them. ( GA is cool, really ) The question is about the stats that YOU can see about SOMEONE ELSE's site, and about RATINGS of sites, about what sites are most popular in a certain country. The information not only webmasters can see, but for everybody. I still use Alexa 'cos I'm just accustomed to it. Perry Rose mentioned Compete. But what are other options?
