I would like to know about the best free web directories that bring effective unique visits and the proceduries of each of them in order to submit your site and how long it takes to get approved ?.

Try http://dmoz.org/ I'm sure you will get some unique hits and it is considered as the best of any free web directory.

How long does it takes to get approved? Oh, I will guest since I am still waiting for mine. My guess it takes anywhere from 5 to 100 years?

 

I agree, it takes ages to get approved even for quality sites.
It takes less than 24 hours if you know the moderator of your category though

 

I guess there is no one that bring effective unique visits

Firstly why does it matter how long they take if its free?

You should not be looking for traffic from a directory, why are you asking people here how long it will take to be approved in someone elses directory.

Questions are beginning to get a bit silly here and more and more demands expected from free directories.

Be realistic, they are free, you need to ask the owners these questions.

Since when did free bring exactly what people want with that free listing?

You can submit to most general directories with those types of sites, i accept those sites in http://www.pulsedirectory.com/

 

and whats about forums talking about business,software,hardware,games..etc ?!

In my directory very quickly, in others directories, quite quick if its a brand new directory (free) or still quite quick if its a paid directory.

Traffic wise, realistically and honestly no, thats low to no traffic from the directory in many cases, there are exceptions.

Generally i view directories as a way to help rank for keywords, improved serps.

In my directories i would never suggest that they could send much traffic, its impossible to, all those different niches listed, it would take very large traffic passing through my directory to have any chance of sending plenty of traffic to listed sites.

Better exposure in the search engines is one of the greatest benefits from being listed in directories.

 

I'm still waiting for it to be approve.
