What Are The Best Backlink Building Techniques

    What are the best backlink building strategies?

    So far I've found out about directory submission, article submission, social bookmarking and blog commenting. Besides those 4, is there any other way I might be missing?

    Everything you said along with link trades and forum sigs in forums that match your site. Be active with it. Do link building at least twice a week.

    you can create free pages for your site and can promote them individually it will be beneficial.

    You can always do some guest blog posts on related blogs to your site. This may take some time, but quality backlinks are the only ones you should focus on, instead of spending all of your time on low quality backlinks that will require hundreds of links to really help you at all.

    And when trading links it is often best to offer the person a different site for them to link to than the one they want a link on. This way it is not seen by the search engines as a link exchange, which I am not too fond of for proper SEO.

    i refer to do blog commenting with related theme / niche ..
    its a safer way of getting a backlink and you do it manually, so you decide where to link or not :)

    High PR dofollow Blog comments, with less outbound links.
    Pligg powered social boomkarking sites submissions is a great source as well.
    And if you can afford spendding a bit $$$ than nothing like buying Blogpost links, and blog reviews, sponsoring free wordpress themes.

    Blog commenting links seem to count pretty quickly. For traffic, forum footer links seem to work well.
