The whole point of affiliate programs is to sell the product and gain money your self, its your job to sell the product to the customer... money off = less for you.
It depends on what you want to promote..If you want to promote products, you have to ask people to buy..if you join CPA, you don't need people to buy but they have other option to sign up, and you will get paid for it.
Perhaps I should clarify. I am planning on promoting offline therefore I have no use for cookie embedding links at the moment. Therefore the only way I can get sales is if people put my refferal code in when they buy. Whats the best way to ensure I dont lose sales and people actually use my code? Obviously something of benefit to them such as a discount. What are the best products that fit this criteria?
Get your own hosting and setup a landing page then you tell poeple about your website rather than the affiliate website, for example: don't tell people: affiliatesite.blah/aff?40983 do tell people: mysite.com it will make it easier for offline marketing too, I still think your unlikely to find an affiliate program where your affiliate id acts as a discount code....
As a poker affiliate I can just give them a bonus code. They go to the site put in bonus code I get paid. Pretty simple. There must be others like this. I would be willing to give up a portion of my commision in order to give people a reason to use my code when they buy/sign up. I have a couple landing pages but realistically at this point I cant build a site comparable to the products I promote. I can make good offline materials thought to direct them to the site. In order to get credit I need to get them to enter my code.
