    we all know forum posting is good technique but.. a lot of forums are nofollow... which means no use but only giving traffic.

    building backlinks on forum will increase serps over time but building relationships on those forums will reap benefits.
    If you look at some of the posting in this thread you know some of these posters have no idea ie: "forum posting helps to get good backlinks" etc. backlinks yes, but building relationships through these threads will bring in business long term
