With the development the way we do things have changed a lot, things like keeping in touch with people, paying bills and buying have become really easy. One of the main advantages of internet is online shopping, you can just sit at home and order the things that you might need and get them delivered to your residential address.

Shopping is a basic necessity for everyone and online shopping is a great way to buy things especially for people who feel that shopping is a chore. You can browse through the various items available on the internet and choose to buy the one which you are very comfortable with.

    in my opinion,
there are so many advantages you can get from e-commerce.
Compared to conventional way to do business, e-commerce provides you broader area for your business in the matter of distribution and even building public image about your company.
And it is totally free, what i mean by free is, you don't have to spend so much budget to create and to spread flyer and others manual marketing tools.

E-commerce can provide the following benefits over non-electronic commerce:
1.Reduced costs by reducing labour, reduced paper work, reduced errors in keying in data, reduce post costs
2.Reduced time. Shorter lead times for payment and return on investment in advertising, faster delivery of product
3.Flexibility with efficiency. The ability to handle complex situations, product ranges and customer profiles without the situation becoming unmanageable.
4.Improve relationships with trading partners. Improved communication between trading partners leads to enhanced long-term relationships.
Lock in Customers. The closer you are to your customer and the more you work with them to change from normal business practices to best practice e-commerce the harder it is for a competitor to upset your customer relationship.
New Markets. The Internet has the potential to expand your business into wider geographical locations.

E Commerce is one of the most important facets of the Internet to have emerged in the recent times. Ecommerce or electronic commerce involves carrying out business over the Internet with the assistance of computers, which are linked to each other forming a network. To be specific ecommerce would be buying and selling of goods and services and transfer of funds through digital communications. The benefits of Ecommerce:-

Ecommerce allows people to carry out businesses without the barriers of time or distance. One can log on to the Internet at any point of time, be it day or night and purchase or sell anything one desires at a single click of the mouse.
The direct cost-of-sale for an order taken from a web site is lower than through traditional means (retail, paper based), as there is no human interaction during the on-line electronic purchase order process. Also, electronic selling virtually eliminates processing errors, as well as being faster and more convenient for the visitor.
Ecommerce is ideal for niche products. Customers for such products are usually few. But in the vast market place i.e. the Internet, even niche products could generate viable volumes.
Another important benefit of Ecommerce is that it is the cheapest means of doing business.
The day-to-day pressures of the marketplace have played their part in reducing the opportunities for companies to invest in improving their competitive position. A mature market, increased competitions have all reduced the amount of money available to invest. If the selling price cannot be increased and the manufactured cost cannot be decreased then the difference can be in the way the business is carried out. Ecommerce has provided the solution by decimating the costs, which are incurred.
From the buyer’s perspective also ecommerce offers a lot of tangible advantages.
Reduction in buyer’s sorting out time.
    Better buyer descisions
Less time is spent in resolving invoice and order discrepancies.
Increased opportunities for buying alternative products.
The strategic benefit of making a business ‘ecommerce enabled’, is that it helps reduce the delivery time, labour cost and the cost incurred in the following areas:
    Document preparation
    Error detection and correction
    Reconciliation
    Mail preparation
    Telephone calling
    Credit card machines
    Data entry
    Overtime
    Supervision expenses
Operational benefits of e commerce include reducing both the time and personnel required to complete business processes, and reducing strain on other resources. It’s because of all these advantages that one can harness the power of ecommerce and convert a business to ebusiness by using powerful turnkey ecommerce solutions made available by ebusiness solution providers.

E-commerce is a great tool and a low barrier to entry when starting a business. If you decided to open a brick and mortar store, it would cost you a lot of start up capital to get started. E-commerce has many facets in choosing what you would like to do at an affordable cost; if you know what you are doing. The easiest way in my opinion to start an e-commerce business is to create an email capture page with an enticement, "A Freebie", to get future subscribers to join your email list and offer them great content and great offers in order to please them and make you money in the process. Once you have that down then you can expand by offering a complimentary product to sell as an affiliate or make your own products and have affiliates promote for you. Which in my experience is much better. It is a lot of work upfront but it pays off fantastically in the end.

Sorry to keep rambling but e-commerce can be very fun once you get into it and master something you like.

    Good luck.

Online business gives you access to the largest market available, with over 1.5 billion people currently connected and that number growing on a daily basis.Compare that to the stores in the city or town you live in!

Ecommerce is the business of buying and selling of products over internet. As the business is done online, so the geographical area extends, more customers can see & buy the products, companies can collect customer data for future necessity, etc.

    Hey Jasonmark,

No question to big or too small, e-commerce is really just a term for doing business over the internet, like others have said it means you have less initial outlay, no rent to pay for offices, no staff costs, you can trade anywhere in the world, you can sell anything you want, and best of all you could make some really good money at it. Give it a go, try to research on Google and other search engines. The truth is if you don't try you won't know if it's right for you.
Good luck and if you want any support, remember my name and ask?

    Cheers
    Tony

Hi, E-commerce is just like normal business with the only difference that it is carried online thus all the rules and regulations that are followed in normal commercial business are also in e-commerce. E-commerce make it easy for us to carry out trade easily without any location contraint, saves our time, prevents us from extra efforts that we need to do.
