As I'm not an admin, I cannot give you the best answer. The best answer can probably be provided by the forum admins. They know why they implemented the system. I think the system of trophy points encourage people to visit and use the forum regularly. It's fun to get points. It differentiates you from other users. If you have been on the forum for a long time and contributed to it, you will have more points and will be regarded as something of a legend.
Absolutely nothing We use Xenforo and Xenforo was created by ex-vBulletin staff. vBulletin had this kind of progression system and so it found it's way into Xenforo. It would probably take some effort to get rid of it so we've just left it be.
"What are the benefits of "DigitalPoint's Trophy so from my opinion there is no benifit and i posted link to read about trophy.
@hiuufji you quoted the opening post and clearly you didn't read the thread. If you had you'd have seen answers from others that make you look foolish.
Trophies make people feel good about the content they've shared It's just something to help the user feel like they're helping the forum.
I hadn't logged in here for a few years ... Can you lose your 'trophy points' ? I've exchanged messages and everything (years ago) but now I have none ... is this new or did I just lose the points for not logging in much? I'm not seeing that I have any (sorry for such a silly question - just noticed them on other people's profile comments).
Which is strange. The forum showed fine everywhere else (meaning .css got loaded and cached). I tried to reload the page several times it still didn't work. I am using Chrome, could be it has something to do with the browser.
Ah, I see. Yes, today I have points. Why are the likes important then? Does it give you some 'expert' status ranking or something, I'm assuming? ... and, how do I 'like' your post? Not seeing a like button ? (again, sorry such a silly question)
When you have 3 likes you become established and can create threads in most of the Buy/Sell/Trade section. Only established members can give others a like.
