What are the benefits from social bookmarking?

Im mjust curious, havent done it before, but what are the benefits from social bookmarking? When you bookmark does it help you with SEO or is social bookmarking just for traffic? What other values does it have?

 

Well You can easily share your bookmarks with your friends or co-workers which are present on Social Bookmarking websites. Also you can view bookmarks of your friends or co-workers or other users.

Social Bookmarking Websites makes search results more faster than Google or yahoo.

 

Another benefit is that by chance if you have to format your computer, You still have the bookmarked links. You don't loose them. And of course its good for sharing also.

 

For me, it serves as another popular medium for you to draw visitors to your website. This allows you to get traffic, backlinks and branding.

Social bookmarking can never be a 1 man task. That's what I've learned so far with serving my content on social bookmarking sites.

I have heard that social bookmarking links don't help Search engine rankings but I have found they may help getting the sites to the first page of google quick, which in turn could get you more traffic in addition to the social bookmarking sites traffic, that is if your provide quality content.

 

From social book marketing you can develop your site or blog and get more traffic.

 

For me social bookmarking is a method to promote link baits, using it for anything else never has much returns.

Facebook is an awesome place to start. Then there is MySpace but that's a pretty young crowd. There is also LinkedIn which is good as well.

 

Social bookmarking is an excellent tool to drive tons of traffic, however I have never found that traffic to be highly converting unless you use some sort of incentive website, then you get some decent income if you do it right!
