    Friends,
I was wondering if there are any benchmarks/goals for a new site to compare with to know the progress.

I launched a site one month back and now on an average i get this:

    Visits: 500-600/day
    PageViews: 1500

Are there some benchmarks or short-term goals that can be be compared with. Otherwise, I guess I have to set up my own.

    Thanks

I don't think there are really any benchmarks. I think for ecommerce the standard rule is that for every $1 you spend you should have $1.50 in return. So maybe a general benchmark is that you are making 1 1/2 times what you are spending on your website.

It depends on the niche. Your stats might be about average for an entertainment site - which gets lots of "low value" visitors, while it would be incredible for a mesothelioma site, which tend to get a very small number of "high value" visitors.

If you can make more money than you spend from your site then I already consider that a success.

    Thanks Friends
All the replies so far has stressed basically stressed on the money earned>money invested.

But as i mentioned, its a new site and i think for a new site money earned would always be less then money invested as you need to advertise the site.

So,I don't think that's a proper benchmark for any site that is less then 6-12 months old.

it's all depend to each person standard. for me if you can get 100$ for first month and got more potential, it's already successful. for others, they may think 100$ is too low and need to be better. it's all up to you. dont let other people to tell you what you should be.
