I'm interested in promoting a 'freelance php development' website later on, once I have it set up. I wanted to hear personal opinions of the DP community, based on experience or what you've learned.

What are a few, or all, in step format. The fundamentals of what I should read on, and learn. Of coarse Yes, I can do a google search. But, I want to hear 'experience based' opinions.

Bringing the market to desire your product or service. In other words, find where your target market "hangs out" online and go to them, and put your offer in front of them. Without spamming, that's the trick

 

If you are going to build a site read up on how to do keyword research plus producing quality content. Build a list as soon as you can.. so that way you have a list of subscribers. Develope a relatioship with them and sell them related products that is realavant to your site..

I think it depends on whether you provide that php development yourself or you want to promote somebody elses website.
But either way, do be simple here... target specific keywords related to your niche, not too general ones. Upload relevant to the topic content on regular basis, but be sure to provide value. You can do couple of video tutorials or rather find something on youtube and share with your crowd. You could also build an email list on the website to be able to send them updates as well as good content. I think the most important thing is to provide value and build a good relationship with your costumer. Don't try just to plain shove them your product. Relationship is what work on the long-term...
