I would say make sure you take into account different operating systems and software products. As a Mac user who often searches for tutorials, sometimes the lack of this consideration is annoying.:)

Make everything as clear as you can, no harm in being to clear about something :)
Also a good idea would be to provide the tutorial in writing and then a video as well.

Makes it easy for your visitors, and if you use metacafe to host your videos, you can get paid for every viewer of your video. It's not much but at least you can make more money :)

How do you want to set up the site? Are you using specific software to organize it? Organization is key. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to people.

Are you going to host all the videos or pull them from google/youtube/etc?

there are lots of ways of building it and lots of suggestions for creating the tutorials. Tell us more about what you need help on exactly.

Joomla is a great way to organize a membership site and videos.

I think I will host the videos on a personal server and embedd them, As the site grows I may switch to matacafe to gain extra money for the site. I have a low budget of $45 a month so it may be hard to build a nice website.

Don't sell yourself short. You can set this up using blogging software like Wordpress. I would let a service host my video b/c hosting and bandwidth would be a majority of the cost.

Open up you the tools that you use in creating videos. Check the featurs and menus. Create tutorials that follow the natural steps in creating videos and feature the tools and functionality of the software that you use.

Check out sites like Viddler.com and Revver.com

Also, just wanted to post a link to my new favorite video blog. I was looking at his earlier post and comparing them to the later post and Gary has made progress in the production of these video entries. He's also got a personality that keeps you interested.

Host the videos at metacafe or some similar site that pays per viewer. That way you'll save bandwith, earn a little bit more and you get to promote your site at the same time.
Since your videos are on the site of metacafe as well. Just be sure to watermark the entire video with your sites url and leave 10 - 15 seconds of black background with your watermarked url at the end of your video.
