Doubleclick.net sold for over 3 billion Stumbleupon.com went for 75 million Kaboodle went for 40 million Last.fm went for 280 million Feedburner went for 100 million Plus a whole bunch more There have been loads of acquisitions this year
Man. Just goes to show; and everyone, what do we recognize about these companies? They were all a completely new idea introduced into the market. Innovation, not copying is the key.
Some big money here. I didn't know Stumble had been sold and for the price it has been sold, that is a nice retirement, lol
Business.com was sold as a domain and not site .. right? myspace was sold to News Corp. for 580 million
I don't think so. Their whole business (including the new Work.com they launched last year) is still affiliated. I'm pretty sure the whole business was sold.
I hear Yahoo is getting sold. Microsoft offered a price for it. Think it would be the biggest in history so far, if sold. With Microsoft and Google buying all the sites, there would a price hike for good sites for sure. Urchin bought by Google was a pricey deal.
It isn't a done deal yet so who knows if it'll fall through or not Though if that did happen.. history made indeed.
