I think tv shows are good forum niches...when new tv shows start, make a forum and if you're good and a bit lucky you'll have a solid niche in place..

I'm still wishing I would've created a lost forum 3 years ago..it would be well worth it today with the show's popularity

 

it really depends on what you like and what you can make something out of, games, webmaster, marketing, music, tv, movies, they are all good but it just depends on if you have the time to dedicate behind it, just go after what you know best and what you can do

 

Webmaster and movies are popular niches for forum. You also can't go wrong with internet related business forums.

 

I think music will be also popular niche.
But as for me I don't like sites which have just forums. It should be something more than just forum.

 

i think it really depends on how do you want your forum to evolve/turn into..

are you after creating a big forum that will grow rapidly and massively.. if so then a few good suggestions were put in this thread... a popular tv, movie or actor would get a forum to grow quickly.

or are you more interested in monetizing the forum big and quickly.. then base it on niches that have high value keywords.. such as loans, mortgages, mba and other top paying kwords...

I think, anything about women and beauty, as we know women are power consumer

I was doing some research om forums on wordtracker and it seemed like there was high demand for a forum on US current events

 

webmaster, blogging, advertising, and so on.

 

Wait for a new car to come out, and quicly jump and make a forum on it..Atleast thats what I did, and so far its coming along ok..

 

choose something that you have an interest in yourself - that way your enthusiasm is less likely to drift off in those early days . . .

 

Cars Mods (Pick your model and make)

Tv Shows (Reality tv)

Music (Especially and Teenie bopper crap)

Video Games

 

One good forum niche I would know of would be is a webdeveloper related forum. Afterall, we do come back to DP over and over.

Technology topics and politics will always be on the move as well.

 

i think thats a good idea. However, the only problem with is that you have to hope they become really big shows and last sometime.

Its an incredibly competitive arena. There are very busy forums already on such topics.
