What are Social Bookmarks?

    Hey guys,

I always hear (not literally...) users describing and stressing the importance of Social Bookmarks, but what are they? A bookmark to me is "Bookmarks > Bookmark this Page > Save".

Are there any links I could get these Social Bookmarks from?

    Thanks!

    I need some for www.FreeFilmWorld.com :)

my question now, "are you serious about this?". Social bookmark just like digg, and the other, you will get backlink if you submit your site there.

One of them (free) , http://bookmarkspro.com/ ...you can submit your site there :)

    First paragraph of Wiki

"Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources. Unlike file sharing, the resources themselves aren't shared, merely bookmarks that reference them."

What I want to know, is what Social Bookmarking really is - I know it's a method to share, organize and search, but what are the benefits, where can I find websites which do this etc?

    Cheers

You can get some additional traffic from social bookmarking, but if you are selling anything, don't expect social bookmarking traffic to convert. As far as backlinks are concerned, they are useless and most of the popular bookmarking sites are nofollow anyways. They are what they are, wikipedia does a good enough job of describing it.

    http://digg.com
    http://propeller.com
    http://reddit.com
    http://blinklist.com
    and there are many more,
Go to http://socialposter.com to find more.

Social Bookmarking is, basically, promoting your content through social medias, like digg, propeller, mixx, regedit.

    A hint:

Use OnlyWire.com to promote your blogs. You can do social bookmarking much, much easier!

In addition social bookmarks provide back links and also help the search engine to find a new site faster.
