What Are Resale Rights?

I keep hearing about people selling the resale rights to e-books or something else. What is this and what is the diff between resale rights and master resale rights?

 

Resale rights means you are allowed to resell a product , and master resale rights means you can resell a product + resell the resale rights

 

Could you give me an example please...

 

If you buy a ebook from ebay with resale rights, that means you can resell that ebook but you cannot sell the resale rights for it which means the ones buying the ebook from you cannot resell it.

If you buy a ebook from ebay with master resale rights it means you can resell the ebook as many times you want plus resell the resale rights so the ones that purchases the ebook can also resell it also.

Yes, but it sounds more confusing that it really is.

 

Unfortunately a lot of people don't understand the difference and you'll often see ebooks on ebay which you know just came with 'resell rights' from the author, being offered for sale with resale rights. Drives me crazy!

That's a legal minefield that's likely blow up one day IMO.
