    Hello,

I am very interested in setting up a proxy site but still need to learn some of the jargon. Can someone please tell me what a proxified page is? I have done a search on google but have not found a definition.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kazba

This should be pretty self explanatory really, if you use a proxy website to visit another website, that is called a proxified page. If you see another website through the proxy = proxified page.

    Hello,

Delusion....I read that one is not allow to have adsense on their proxified pages. If these are pages viewed from the proxy site, then how can one put in adsense as these pages belong to some one else?

SteveAR...I am interested in finding out more about setting up a proxy site. I have been reading that many hosts are not allowing proxy sites, can you please direct me to one that is relatively cheap (not dedicated) so I can work out some costs?

I will visit your forum in your sig. which I am guessing will give me lots of extra info. Not really sure at this stage what else I need to know.

    Thanks for your assistance,

    Kazba

i host with fdcservers.net and they have good VPS plans for you. the proxy Biz is hurting right now. i have posted the info on the forum and you can find it here on DP as well.

what every you do do not list your site on proxy.org. youll see why.

i can help you with your proxy no problem and give you some pointers.

    Hello SteveAR,

Do proxy businesses get good traffic???? I read your post and it seems that it is a problem related to Adsense and if proxy sites generally get good traffic then that traffic must be able to be used to direct to affiliate programs, other products and services.

After several months on the internet, I realise that I am very technically challenged. Are proxy sites easy to run? with very little technology involved?

I purchased a PHPdirectory script but have found it very hard to get everything going smoothly. Therefore I thought I would look at the proxy sites to see if they are easier to run.

    Cheers,

    Kazba

that script is easy to do and i can help you with it if you like.

also Proxies are very easy to run once you have it set up. promotion is key when it comes to proxies. once its set up youll have to promote it with link exchanges, advertising , emails, etc. not to much technical info needed.

the PHP script is very easy to install. just upload and tweak a few settings for better use and your good to go.

of course you do need a good server to run a few proxies. a shared plan wont cut it. theres a bit of a down fall right now for the proxy biz but it should fix it self soon.

no need to use CGI anymore anyway. new version of PHP allows myspace login which it lacked before.

tell me about it. ever since google turned theyre eye to proxies its been down hill. let me guess all your sites are listed on proxy.org right? i think google is going thru the list on that site and just banning or smart pricing everyone.

Thanks again SteveAR. I am looking at a budget right now. It kind of makes sense to start off with one proxy site first and when that one starts to produce, then start some more. Would the fdcservers.net VPS for $20 a month be sufficient for starters??

    Thanks for all your help,

    Kazba
