Google rank sites based on some factors. Ranking is from Pr0 (min) to Pr10 (max). So Pr6 - Pr7 are some good value sites.
Page Rank is a relative importance meassure that google gives to pages on the web. Higher PR means that a page is more important. The importance takes in consideration the number of links that point to your page, and the importance of those links too. Here is a basic explanation, http://www.google.com/technology/ And here is a more complex explanation, http://www.iprcom.com/papers/pagerank/
Just remember that pagerank is not the same as ranking in the search results, a higher pr does not equal higher rankings by itself. Google do not rank pages in their search by pagerank so don't get too blinkered on your toolbar PR.
Yes all comments above are true. Also to see what page rank a page has you can download the google toolbar and the visit the page in question or go to http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php and check it instantly. Skinny
The short answer is these are sites that tend to be worth lots of money and get lots of traffic. A site with either of these Page ranks can be sold starting off at 10 grand and go up from there.
HOW to make other sites to link exchange with my sites ? I think it is difficult . in fact, It is definitely real for me.
Getting sites to link to you is easy. You contact sites related to yours and ask them if they would like to exchange links. Some will want to exchange links with you, some won't.
Definitely, as this goes along with the fact that the more outbound links, the less the PR. Also, highly reputable or high PR sites do not hand out links for free. So the main way to obtain them is via communication with them. Right now, my focus on my website is to get as many of the leading pages in the field to include a link. Also a keyword you used I want to emphasize: RELATED sites Sites that have a similar topic as your webpage are infinitely better!
ganey, since your problems were all around the same time, perhaps you were having a browser memory issue. try a re-boot. on getting yourself links, you can search on google for "add a free link" and other terms but add a term that relates to the subject of your site(s). you can also buy links from lots a places, including elsewhere in these forums.
hi, we are looking for a few good (only PR5 or higher) sites like yours to exchange links. The links page will be new, but site homepage must be at least PR5. The new links page will slowly acquire PR, which can be a good gradual strategy especially when more PR5, PR6, PR7, PR8 sites join. No need to worry about link exchange scam. linkpepper.com
Finding a site with PR above 6 can be very difficult. Many sites with just PR's of 5 charge for link exchange. Any site with a PR of higher than 6 most likely belongs to a large corporation or has been long established. And if you have a site that ever gets to this point and you try to exploit it alah selling link exchange google will get you. The best thing to do if you have a high ranking PR site is to add adsense to it as google is more less likely to penalize you for running their add scripts or sell it off quickly. If my site ever hit PR 6 or above I would probably sell it asap for like $10,000 and let someone else worry about it.
Hmmm... Interesting. I have one, maybe 2 sites that I expect to go to pr6 from naturally placed links on competing sites in my niche. Do people really pay ten grand for a pr:6 site? How about a pr:7? How about if the site has little to no revenue?
$10,000 is a exaggeration for the general site. For example if you are targetting a different search term then a site with a PR of say 6 will be useless to someone who whom wants to sell marbles but has a site optimized for say penuts. The search engine will noticed that the spidered backlinks to your site have changed or dissappeared and calculate that the site has most likely changed owners, managmement, expired or have been renewed. The best thing to do when purchasing a PR site is if you do not plan on having the same content then simple use it as a parked domain. This way google will simple index it as a search page for that search term. Their are honestly a million and 1 things wrong with purchasing a domain with PR. I have done it before and google has caught me all 3 times and stripped the PR. If the site has little PR or no revenue I would be a bit worried which means that its not optimized for any real search term. What is the name of your domain I would like to judge for myself and then provide you with some advice. Btw getting a PR6 is very unlikely. Only the pro's around here can achieve PR6 ranks your site might place at PR5 however that does take well placed links. Having alot of Backlinks does help a wholelot. Edit: If you have a site with a PR7 it will go for within the $10,000's. However those kind of domains can easily lose their PR ranking because most likely their sites PR ranking is based on page Backlinks to their site so once those backlinks are gone so is the PR. The best thing to do is to purchase the site along with the domain or else the PR is definetly going bye bye.
