So considering that google doesnt want my forum to be on top of the searches and reason being that forums are prone to spamming and info can be inaccurate, How do i go about making sure that google doesnt think mine is a forum?

Some of the sites in your signature are forums. You aren't going to fool google into thinking they aren't what they are. If a site isn't a forum, why would you be putting the keyword in your title or description in the first place?

Google is not god there must be some info in particular which google gathers to find out if this site is a forum or just a plain html page, So if i can remove those things from my pages wont it do the trick? and it wont be against google's tos either coz they have never made this public (they bury forum in serps just coz they are prone to spamming)

so the new question is How do i make search engines think that its not a forum :( so i can get better rankings

How about looking at it logically?

First, let's start off by doing a search for the suspected "poison" keyword:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=forum&btnG=Google+Search

Seems these people have excellent rankings with the use of "forum" in not only titles, but also domain names. PR7, PR8, even a PR9 in there.

I've seen nothing convincing to even suggest there is such a thing. Looking a the search result above, it pretty much dismisses the notion that "forum" is some sort of bad word to use.

I appreciate your effort but my question remains unanswered
you are searching for the word forum itself and that doesnt explain the fact that would a forum rank poorly against an html site when searched for a keyword which both are targetting. I understand there cant be any real time testing thats why i am here to see what others have to say or what your experiences has been regarding so called poison words.

Google can do anything they want. It is already known that they give non-commerical sites like edu's more weight in SERP's. They can decide not to list any forum if they want.

#1 Your source code tells me it is a forum - even if it didn't mention the word forum.

#2 Forum's can never be optimized as well as original content pages because you have no control over most of the content.

#3 Your sites either aren't showing any or very few backlinks according to google. Your sites aren't going to rank well for any competitive keyword with the backlinks they have. The top ranking site has something like 2,300 google backlinks.

#4 If you want to be viewed as not a forum, then add original content pages that aren't a forum. "broadband" is a highly competitive term and the #1 ranking site is dslreports.com which has a very large forum which proves there is no truth to sites with forums not being able to rank well. If google thinks people don't want to see a forum when they search for a particular keyword, then they are free to give it less weight. Domain name also plays a role, and "indiabroadband" might tell google it isn't a forum designed for US vistors.

#5 There are 50 reasons why your sites might not be ranking well. Just because it isn't ranking where you want, don't assume it is some penalty. Age of a domain can also play a factor. The top ranking mortgage sites have an average age of about 10 years old. Nothing you can do about how google wants to run its search engine.

I agree about the forum in my signature but i have never tried to target the keyword "broadband" My targets are isp's in India and i am not bothered about results in google.com or .co.uk or any other countries tld's google has I only target www.google.co.in and www.indiabroadband.net ranks very well and for the few phrases i am targeting which are highly searched for in India I rank right below the official sites right now and for one of them i rank no1 . I dont expect 10000 uniques a day on a forum which is only 6 months old with no active members.
