    Aside from directory submission, article submission, social bookmarking, signature links, what are the other ways of building links?

    Write good content then ask other webmasters for a link, stating why your site would be valuable to their visitors.

    exchange links, classified ads, shoutboxes, cboxes, and guestbooks are other free ways to get links. Some of these are temporary though...
