What are 'Nulled Scripts'?

Hey folks,

can anybody tell me what exactly mean by a nulled script. What is the change will be there with a normal script and nulled one.? I could see on various sites (seems illegal though) that there are lots of nulled scripts are available. Can anybody explain me this?

Hi, It is a throughly cracked script... No back link or back door or copyright or traces of creator is there... all are Nulled...

 

is it okay to ( I mean is it safe?) to install and use the such scripts?

 

A nulled script is probably described best as a stolen script; taken without the owners consent. Nulled scripts are often of things such as vBulletin that costs money and its traced by the owner. If the script has been nulled it isn't tracked by the owner nor can it be updated without you being caught, if you are caught using one you could face a fine.

i use vbulletin nulled scripts on my offshore dedi all the time.

A lot of nulled scripts have bugs in them, and often don't function as well as they are supposed to. They can be handy to test a script. From experience, I'd say if you can afford to buy the legal version, do it.

HEY some of us cant pay huge costs.....!

 

Alot of the time nulled contain a virus or a back door to who ever nulled it , potentially very unsafe and often ends in sites being lost.

Play by the rules and you'll be fine , In the past i have used a nulled script to see if i like it , I download an expensive script ( if there isnt a legal demo ) try it and if it like it and think its worth the value then ill buy it with in a couple of days. If i dont like it i dont use it.

To me thats perfectly moral however i know some people would even frown upon that.

 

Yeah, very correct. You've a point there. I also thought about this. If a guy is capable of nullifying a script. He can also leave something there with the script that can harm us.

 

I had a client once who used a nulled shopping cart and vb, the people who nulled it put in a backdoor, so they where able to access all the user accounts billing info and customers CC data.
Besides the fact that it is highly illegal it is just wrong, i used to sell PHP software, and lost a lot of money on nulled copies, this people put a lot of effort into their work, and should get paid, and we are not talking about 6k software, we are talking hundreds in most cases even less, and this behavior also forces developers to encode all of the source, so people who buy it get huge limits in customizing the code, i for example use idev affiliate software a lot, and they started encoding 99% of their source, now i can not modify it anymore to my needs.

So if you dont have the money, just use free alternatives vbulletin = phpbb etc

Nulled as I am sure you have already found out stands for ILLEGAL. However most Asian countries donot have so high a privacy consent like others. So you'll find a whole lot of users opting for it over licensed versions. Reason being they can't afford it, and secondly there's no point of a $160.00 Web Software in their eyes, especially youngsters. When they can have fake Paypal IDs, Fake CC, what bad would NULLED Scripts will do to them?

And on the contrary to fellow members comments, nulled scripts donot ALWAYS have a Virus or Bug Issue, infact some PIRATE COMPANIES issue softwares after test and trials to make sure you get a genuine thing. As weird as it may sound it happens . So apart from Trademark Violation, you really aren't doing anything more in that case.

 

yeah Xavier, people often think what's wrong to use a nulled script instead of paying 100-200 bucks. Really in some cases they can't afford it. We can see here that many guys are aged 16-22 I surprise seeing that. But they are skilled.

And yeah as you've mentioned some sites are offering very good nulled scripts. But in fact none can believe scripts whether its nulled or not because there are thousands of lines and so. It's totally impossible to get a 100% trustworthy script even with a premium site.

BTW: in 2/3 years i NEVER found a virus in a nulled script, for me that's bullsh!t.

 

I thought this was a Reputable Forum, i can not believe some of the comments being made here.

They will not develop upgrades, patches and new features if nobody pays for it, just look at Windows (sorry just kidding)

But seriously, i just cant believe this, people have no more shame !
