    Hi all,

I'm looking for cheap as possible hosting, free if its available. I'm tempted to settle for GoDaddy, but some people have told me to search about and see whats out there. Any body care to save me a little time?

    Thanks

What are your exact needs? What type of web site are you hosting?

I've just got a site where I put up content regarding myths and rumours. There is no financial gain for it at the moment so I don't really want to pay over the odds. Just some bog standard hosting really.

You can easily get good hosts out there for less than a few dollars a month. It doesn't seem like you'll need anything out of the ordinary so most hosts will be able to accomadate you.

As you are not earning from this site, I would recommend you to go with the most basic package available. Once you think that you can now make money then you may upgrade to higher packages.

On that note, why will I need an upgraded package when I figure out how to make money? I was thinking perhaps affiliate advertising, but I would I need anything extra from my hosting service in that respect?

I recommend you to use hosting from Hostome.com. They are well-known provider with cheap and stable plans.

Then $1/month hosting will suit your needs already.

I have always hated free hosting providers! don't go with them. like you, a month ago I was looking for the cheapest hosting solution
i was really interested in hostgator until one of my friend introduced me to jerkhost, i was skeptic at first but signed up anyway.
so far I am really happy with them, they are the cheapest I have ever seen with a decent service.
they charge you something like $1.97/month, NO annual CONTRACT! FOR unlimited bandwidth and disk space this was a great thumb up for me, since I didn't want to pay 20 to bucks for something which i wasn't sure about. and now i can cancel it any time.
ANYWAY if yo were interested shoot me a email at: xboxlabtop (at) gmail . com , then I will give you a coupon for a full month of free TRAIL.
    good luck

I use Dreamhost and I'm satisfied thus far. Anytime I have an issue, I've been able to e-mail them and get it resolved promplty. Most free sites have limitations so it depends on what you're trying to do on your site.

GoDaddy is a reputable source. Did you have your website designed by a web design company? If so, you should inquire about web hosting with them. This way, the company that you created your site is also the host. It makes for a more efficient process when/if you need an update. :)
