HI, what is Link Baiting? & What are the difference between Link Baiting & Link Building. can anyone explain in detail.
Isn't your name seotips? You should probably know the difference. Anyway... link baiting is creating content to organically get people to link to your sites... link building is actually going out there and doing link trades, blog commenting, directory submitting etc.
As said, link baiting is a way of creating content or applications in return that they will have a link pointing to your site. This way of doing things is good if you can write and are on a small budget rather than going out and buying links.
What I hear you say is that using Rss feeds is a way of link baiting while forum comments is building. thanks for arousing the discussion. On a small budget, I shd think that link building is still cheap coz making your app/rss feeds or other baits popular is still quite hard if you have low SE ranking
Link baiting is very good if you have a really good and attractive content, big news agency sites like CNN don't do much for link building because they did link baiting by letting other webmasters and bloggers to cite articles from their site. Also, link baiting is a purely "white" link development method and if done correctly the link will stay for a long time without having risk getting deleted, and this method of link development is favorable by Google and will resist any Google algorithm updates.
Link baiting is the whole process of creating a piece of content strictly to attract links and getting it noticed. You can promote it on social media sites, facebook, twitter, forums, whatever's worth it, but the point of posting it isn't getting the link, it's getting traffic so people can link it naturally.
Link baiting is a technique to get traffic on your site by putting some interesting videos, news, story or some interesting information that can help you to pull people on your website. Yes, there is a difference between link baiting and link building.
Link bait is viral in nature & its one of extremely powerful form of marketing, for link bait you have to have excellent content which people finds interesting & links back to your site/blog... So, in case of link bait you don't have to ask anyone for a backlink - people will automatically link back to you depending on your content
You could, for example, put up a page on how to pass copyscape then give out the link, telling people it is an easy way to pass copyscape. By 'baiting' people like this, you 'hook' them in to visiting the page. You hope to get visitors and backlinks, as people pass the link around on forums etc.
contentboss your how to pass copyscape baited me because i didn't even know what a copyscape is. but thanks for the info. i just recently started hearing about link baiting, seems popular, might as wel try it to drive more traffic to my website(s).
