What are "Inlinks"?

I always log into my Yahoo! Site Explorer and check how many backlinks I have, but they seem to call them "Inlinks". Any particular reason for this term?

Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page.It is termed as Inbound links also.Today their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (though other measures, such as PageRank, are likely to be more important). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.

    Hope the helps:)

Backlinks, inbound links and inlinks are synonym (they have similar meaning)

In simple wordd Inlink is a link of your website on another website. Inlinks plays a major role in search engine optimization (SEO). Higher quality dofollow links you have, more will be the chance of getting good search engine page rank (SERP).

    Thanks

Inlinks are links->in to your site from other sites. In SEO parlance, it usually means one way links in. If a site links to you and you then link back out to that site, it's called a reciprocal link, or "recip". Try to avoid having too many recip links ...it makes your site look spammy.

As others here have already stated, these are simply inbound links that link to your site from their site. To check your inlinks (AKA inbound links) simply go to yahoo and type "site:http://www.yoururl.com". You may also want to try it without the "www" so that you have "site:http://yoururl.com". You can use this trick for both your own site as well as competitor's sites to get possible link ideas.

Backlinks, Inbound Links, Inlinks. All the same just different terms used by different organisations. They all amount to how other organisations / sites view your site and as such a link towards your site can and should "enhance" your sites presence in the Search Egnines eyes.

I dont think there is any specific reason of yahoo naming the header as a Inlinks, this links are the sites which contain our sites.
