What are Google API's anyway

    I have been seeing the term api especially in regard to Google for awhile but never have read what this is all all about

    For Google AdWords, it's a way of interacting with their system, pulling in data and/or sending it back. This is great for reporting for example, where you can create a report, use the api to get the report as an xml and display the report on a website. The benefits of this is that you can do this daily for example and start to manipulate the data, using it to find trends and opportunities.

    I currently use it for reporting, looking at keyword and time of day ROI, dynamically updating prices of adverts and occasionally using it for bid manipulation.

    API is a way through your code(application) can interact with any online system/application.

    there are many API's available , almost all major websites(like Google , twitter , facebook) have their own api's ...

    Google Code is Google's site for developer tools, APIs and technical resources. The site contains documentation on using Google developer tools and APIs—including discussion groups and blogs for developers using Google's developer products.
    There are APIs offered for almost all of Google's popular consumer products like Google Maps, YouTube, Google Apps and even Google Wave.[1]

    You can able to access a Google Powered Application from your Server Say getting a result for your query!
    If you use Google Maps API you can get the proper Results for the query you sent to the Google from yuor site itself and the user wont know about that!

    good info..glad i read this....very help...all the terms i see but dont know the real meaning or what it stands for
    rss, pr, api, seo,...but i do understand api alittle better..does not look like something im missing out on..but good to know

    HI: Well it is another way og getting some good reports on or about your website. Google Code is Google's site for developer tools, APIs and technical resources> ausing it can really analize your website.
