What are Feeds? Need some help!

    hello,

i keep on hearing about feeds from CJ or linkshare and other companies. How do they work?

In my mind, i guess they're sorta like news feeds where you add some code to your page and it'll be populated with updated news (or in this case, deals or whatnot) on a constant basis?

Any suggestions on where i can learn more about it?

    Thanks!

datafeeds are actually extracts from the merchants database. feeds contain the information about the product that the merchant is selling. in most cases, it contains the following information: SKU, Product Name, Brand Name, Keywords, Description, Image URL, Price of the Product, Buy URL (the actual page where you can buy the product), and Tracking URL. It can be in a csv, txt or xls format.

    Thanks for the link.

One of the best place for addings feeds to your site is shareasale. Open a shareasale account, and get started.

They do, but you have to sell a certain amount per month, or pay an upfront fee (i.e., CJ requires roughly $200 for a one time datafeed fee).

Shareasale (another good network) offers feeds for free - as long as a merchant provides one.
