So i'm looking to get traffic to a new site of mine, and i'm looking for a lot of good traffic. None of this mega-profit 'niche' stuff, just happy chappy visitors with a quarter of a brain. Places like Digg and Reddit seem to work well for this, but with the recent news of banning users who pay for diggs or stumbles etc, how can I find my way to the front page of these sort of places? I'm happy to spend upto $200-$300 right now, but what should I really be spending that on for good traffic to my site? Banner adverts on similar-themed websites? Paying some dodgy geezer to get my site to the front of Digg or Delicious? Getting some t-shirts with the site address and logo on it and wear them everywhere I go? I'm not sure that an AdWords campaign is really a good idea. Buying 'bulk' traffic seems to be a waste of time and money. I can't see many options left open to me right now?
Digg users don't tend to trust newbies, so your best bet it to register multiple accounts on different IPs (you can use proxy servers) and build up a history across them. Then use as many different Digg exchanges as possible in order to spread the risk - hopefully something will stick.
