Conv. rate is a percentage of how many people actually signed for your product/bought your product/etc out of the total who visited your site.

Cost/Conv. is the total cost that you had to spent getting one conversion for your site.

The good or bad part depends on the kind of product/service you are selling to your audience.

If the product is costly you can spend more on 1 conversion but if your product is cheap, then you can't afford to spend much on a conversion.

You put the code on the "exit" page though. This means someone clicked on your ad and then went to the page with the conversion code.

We have that code on our "Thank you for ordering" page which can ONLY be accessed after a sale is complete.

How can you say that?, if you have setup conversion tracking in your pages, and adwords data is showing you conv. rate/cost, then you have indeed got a sale., may be that you have setup conversion tracking incorrectly.

I have placed the conversion code in the page(THANKS PAGE) which will be shown only after when the customer has made the payments to me via paypal. The customer will be redirected by paypal to the THANKS PAGE after making payments . But in last three days i haven't made any sales using adword. But ofcourse one of my prospective client has made me payments directly, i mean he didn't click on my ads and then making payment to me and that payment i got just 1 hr back and conversion rate is always displayed only after 24hrs by ADWORD
Can you tell me why adword is showing me conversion rate and my adword a/c is also three days old only.

I already answered it...Someone that clicked on your ad went to your thank you page without making a sale.

    Either by:
    1.)Guessing the url
2.) That page is indexed and they went to it after searching a second time
3.) You accidentally put the code on another page too

Check your logs and follow their path

I have placed the code in just a single page which is dispalyed by paypal only after making payments. I didn't make any changes in the code but simply copied and pasted that code in my "THANKS PAGE"
Were there any changes required in the code?

I am agreed with your 2 point but not with 1 and 3.
Why would someone make a guess and see my thanks page...and i have also checked my all pages i haven't placed the code other than the thanks giving page.

I don't know why people do that but if your url ends in /thankyou.html /thankyou.php etc, they do.

Maybe it is your competition trying to mess up your stats. Who knows.

I can't say why someone would do something, only that the code is fairly simple and can be innacurate due to the reasons above plus probably a few more.

Maybe your guy that paid you had earlier clicked on an ad

Also add it to your robots text file to make sure it doesn't get indexed.

Remove the code completely from your Thank You page and see if it still increases. If it does, you have a piece of code somewhere else
