    I think everything starts with keyword choice. Low search counts will not produce any traffic - so even if site is good - almost useless.

    SEO isn't just about optimizing and driving links to your home page, it's also about optimizing and driving links to your other important pages.

    Start with thinking about what your goals are for your business are.

    If it's to get more newsletter sign-ups, work on optimizing and sending links to your newsletter page. If you want to beef up sales for a particular product work on optimizing that page and getting more links to it. If you promote an affiliate product that has the potential to bring you large affiliate commissions, optimize that page and focus on getting as many links to that page as possible.

    Don't focus so heavily on your home page that you forget your other important pages.
