I would suggest you can also try out Adbrite, Clicksor or Chitika. However, there are always mixed responses to each and every one of them. You just need to find out which one suits you.

For PPC I don't think there are many that pay better than AdSense. But decent money can be made with Affiliate Programs if your site targets the right niche.
