I´m looking for the most efficient ways to promote my blog. Obviously content and fresh content is a must, but how can you get the word out most efficiently. I made the following list of importantce. 1. Get info to twitter 2. to Facebook 3. and to Linked in 4. Blog on other sites and forums with your signature 5. Build list and promote via your newsletters 6. Multiple content tipes (text, video....) 7. Article submission, Squidoo, Hubpages (RSS, Twitter) What is your most important traffic generator in your blog?
The promotion of my articles on forums. Really. Just subtile linking to your websites etc.. it first helps to get traffic (readers clicking the link) and also helps for search engines to rank better on various keyphrases
For me, %80 of my blog traffic comes directly from Google and articles. You should also be making use of social bookmarking. And if you're on Facebook, check out the NetworkedBlogs app. Great little tool to help get your blog out on Facebook and even build up your reader base.
You look like you have got your head in the right place, the only thing that I would add to that is to use a plugin (if you are using wordpress) called Tweetable. This automatically tweets new content, and drives traffic like you wouldnt believe. What brada7x said about Search Engines, this is a very realistic possibility, however you need to pin point your keywords that you want to dominate, and promote from there via all channels that you have mentioned. Have you properly targeted your keywords? How is that working for you? Think along the lines of someone who is trying to find your site, are you findable? What would they search for? etc etc I mean, it looks like you have a good idea of where you are going, personally (I cant say for sure of course) I would be looking at those keywords and description and making sure that you do everything that you can to make your blog findable by someone who wants to find your blog. Also, use Blog Directories. If you sign up to 40 good directories tomorrow, you will aready notice a strong increase in traffic. Good luck mate!
Email marketing. Use the blog as the hub, and send out an email update each week as you add content. RSS and Blog Directories as mentioned. Actually writing good content.
Looks like you've got it under control. There are also a few good blog submission websites including Google's.
not just fresh content. It's fresh content with enough keyword density. You do not need to join Hubpages to benefit from it. You can make short comments on related articles using Name/url option to get back links and traffic to your website.
It depends what content you are puting on your blog - if you post an famous article which everyone's looking for it you will get some hits from google/yahoo and other search engines. also do link exchange with other blogs/sites/forums , it helps to improve your traffic
