It makes me laugh when editing links in my link directory. BANS site's are a waste, why bother even submitting them to directories? When one person submits 10 sites that have the exact same design they ALL get rejected. Have fun optimizing :-p Goto school and learn how to create a "real" website...
I disagree. I have a few BANS sites that I don't even mess with, and they make me several hundred dollars a month combined. They're autopilot sites, that don't look like much, but if they're making money, who cares what they look like. (Unless you make websites for the love of creating websites)..then by all means, go learn how to code from scratch.
Banned site is easy to know. If the site is already index by long time, then it cant be search even by its URL, the site is banned by a specific SE.
I agree with christian231, BANS site for a specific niche using long tail keywords can generate a few houndred dollars a month, it depends on how you personalize the template and the store. With a few one way links to your store you can rank for a few long tail keywords....
