What are backlinks

Hello im new to making websites,can someone please tell me what backlinks do.Thankyou.

Backlink is the link point to your site

 

You have outgoing backlinks (links that you put on your webstie and are going to another url) and incoming backlinks (links that are on other people sites and link to yours).

 

Backlink is when you have a link from another website to yours using for example

Backlinks are the single most important part of ranking in the search engines. But its not that simple - you also need to understand Page Rank and No Follow. Suggest you search the forum as there's loads of information on these subjects here.

 

I think the crowd just to get links from social networking platforms..

A back link to a website is a vote for that site and it is considered valuable by Google. The more voting links you get, more stronger your site should be.

 

Very stupid question. You are not new in seo. I bet you are new in link building

it's shown as

In my opinion backlink is a vote from a different website for your website using a link.
